Position Summary: Senior Data Engineer (Automotive Industry)
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer for a long-term contract engagement (6-12 months) within the automotive sector. This position is strictly onsite in South Florida and requires a candidate who is already local to the area, as no relocation assistance is provided. The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of data solutions, from eliciting business requirements to designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines. This role acts as a vital bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that data architecture aligns with strategic objectives and provides actionable insights. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in Azure Data services and Informatica, capable of handling complex data modeling and integration tasks in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Elicit, interpret, and represent complex business requirements, acting as the primary conduit between customers and technical teams to ensure a shared understanding of project goals.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Azure SQL Data Warehouse to integrate information from diverse source systems.
- Perform advanced SQL programming for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, ensuring high performance and data integrity.
- Utilize Informatica Power Center and IICS (Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services) to build and manage scalable ETL workflows.
- Design and implement data models using industry-standard concepts and techniques, ensuring that data architecture supports both current and future analytics needs.
- Develop comprehensive source-to-target mappings and document data lineage and architecture flows to maintain high standards of data governance.
- Analyze and profile data to validate business domains, ensuring that data quality requirements are accurately defined and met.
- Provide subject matter expertise during data model reviews and solution design sessions, advocating for high-quality deliverables and innovative data usage.
- Support Business Intelligence initiatives by providing ad hoc reporting support and leveraging the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, PowerApps) for data visualization.
- Manage day-to-day support, troubleshooting, and incident resolution for data-related issues, including being available for on-call duties as needed.
Technical Requirements and Qualifications
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field and at least 7 years of professional experience in data engineering or analysis. Specific technical requirements include 5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Data & Analytics PaaS services, 5+ years of expert-level SQL experience, and 5+ years of experience with Informatica Power Center and IICS. Proficiency in JSON and NoSQL databases, specifically CosmosDB, is required. Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform is highly desirable. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong thought leadership, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building relationships across cross-functional teams. This role requires a high level of achievement orientation and a proactive approach to learning new technologies and industry trends.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $90,000 – $104,000 per year
