Role Overview: Azure Data Architect
Eniac Systems Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Azure Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge data platform solutions for our client in Grand Rapids, MI. This onsite contract position requires a professional who can bridge the gap between complex business requirements and robust technical architectures. As a senior leader in the data space, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of data platform development, ensuring that the infrastructure is scalable, secure, and optimized for high-performance analytics.
Key Responsibilities and Technical Leadership
- Platform Architecture: Design and architect comprehensive Azure data platforms utilizing a suite of services including Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics. You will define the blueprints for both serverless and dedicated environments.
- Data Engineering Patterns: Establish and enforce data ingestion, transformation, and serving patterns. This includes managing batch processing and near real-time workloads to support diverse business intelligence needs.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Demonstrate mastery of Terraform to automate the provisioning and management of Azure infrastructure. You will develop reusable Terraform modules to ensure consistency across environments.
- Cloud Networking & Security: Design secure Azure networking components such as VNets, Subnets, Private Endpoints, and Network Security Groups (NSGs). Implement rigorous security protocols to protect sensitive data assets.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor the performance of the Azure ecosystem and implement cost-saving measures. You will be responsible for resource utilization optimization and ensuring high availability and disaster recovery (HADR) patterns are in place.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, Security, and Business Stakeholders, to align technical solutions with organizational goals.
Technical Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience as an Azure Data Platform Architect.
- Deep expertise in Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2), Azure SQL, and Cosmos DB.
- Proficiency in building CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Strong understanding of data governance and compliance frameworks within the cloud.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $185,000 – $245,000 per year (Estimated)
