Position Summary
We are looking for a talented and experienced Front-End UI Developer with a strong specialization in React and TypeScript to join a dynamic team supporting a major banking client in the Washington, DC area. This is a hybrid contract opportunity that requires four days of onsite presence per week, making it ideal for local candidates in the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) region. The role involves developing sophisticated, high-performance web applications that provide a seamless user experience for banking customers. You will work within a modern DevOps environment, utilizing cutting-edge tools to build scalable and maintainable front-end architectures.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and implement dynamic user interfaces using React.js, focusing on modern patterns such as Hooks, Context API, and efficient state management.
- Develop type-safe code using TypeScript to ensure application stability and improve developer productivity.
- Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate front-end components with Node.js RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Build responsive, accessible, and cross-browser compatible web pages using HTML5 and CSS3 (SASS/LESS).
- Manage the front-end build and deployment pipeline using tools like Webpack, Vite, and Azure DevOps CI/CD.
- Write and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests using Jest and React Testing Library to ensure high code quality.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and daily stand-ups, using Azure DevOps (ADO) for task tracking and collaboration.
- Optimize application performance for speed and scalability, ensuring a smooth experience across various devices.
- Stay current with emerging front-end trends and advocate for best practices within the development team.
Required Qualifications
- At least 8 years of professional software development experience, with a primary focus on front-end technologies.
- Expert-level proficiency in React and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript in a production environment.
- Proven track record of working in Agile/Scrum teams and a solid understanding of the full SDLC.
- Experience with version control and CI/CD workflows, preferably within the Azure ecosystem.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, hybrid team setting.
- Prior experience in the Banking or Financial Services industry is highly preferred.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $130,000 – $175,000 per year (Estimated)
