Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud App Engineer for a critical onsite position in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role is a 3-month Contract-to-Hire (CTH) engagement, offering a unique opportunity to transition into a permanent position within a leading organization. As a Cloud App Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing management of core infrastructure services. This includes overseeing server operating systems, mobile device management (MDM), patch deployment, and comprehensive security protocols. You will play a vital role in ensuring that our infrastructure platforms remain secure, reliable, and perfectly aligned with our evolving organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for infrastructure services, focusing on standards-based directory services and single sign-on (SSO) solutions.
- Architect, deploy, and administer computing services across multiple cloud infrastructure providers, with a heavy emphasis on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Design and advance a robust services infrastructure that supports long-term technology goals and organizational requirements.
- Maintain and enhance the server environment through effective engineering, implementation, and lifecycle management of infrastructure solutions.
- Install, configure, and maintain cloud-based applications and related infrastructure components.
- Analyze business and technical requirements to define specifications, standards, and solution designs.
- Deploy and integrate web-based applications while ensuring strict compliance with information security standards.
- Troubleshoot converged infrastructure systems to resolve compute, storage, network, and related issues.
- Perform capacity planning and management for infrastructure solutions and services.
- Monitor system uptime and performance, diagnosing and resolving operational issues promptly.
- Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and assess their potential value to the organization.
Technical Requirements & Qualifications
- Extensive experience with major cloud computing platforms, specifically AWS (API Gateway, ECS, Lambda).
- Advanced proficiency with server-level operating systems (Windows and Linux), including engineering and architectural design.
- Strong background in Windows Active Directory and identity management solutions.
- Hands-on experience with automation and configuration management tools.
- Deep knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) concepts and practices, particularly using Jenkins.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, PHP, Perl, PowerShell, and Ruby.
- Expertise in automated build and deployment processes and tools.
- Advanced knowledge of distributed version control systems, specifically Git.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and Red Hat OpenShift.
- Strong skills in Java and Spring Boot for developing scalable microservices.
- Experience with Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) and Kafka is highly desirable.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $130,000 – $175,000 per year
