Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Analyst to lead the development and implementation of an innovative Audit Planning Application for our Audit Universe. This role requires deep subject matter expertise in audit processes, risk management, and enterprise audit planning platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for bridging the gap between audit leadership, risk management teams, and IT stakeholders to deliver a robust, automated solution for risk assessment and audit prioritization. This is an onsite position located in Downtown Boston, requiring a professional with a strong background in the financial services sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with audit leadership and risk management teams to gather and document comprehensive business requirements for the Audit Planning Application.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and focus groups to understand current audit processes and identify critical pain points.
  • Analyze existing audit workflows, risk assessment methodologies, and planning cycles to identify automation opportunities.
  • Define functional and non-functional requirements for risk assessment automation and audit prioritization.
  • Design and document the architecture for automated risk assessments using internal and external data sources.
  • Develop frameworks for dynamic audit priority recommendations based on real-time risk data.
  • Oversee data integration projects involving multiple enterprise systems, ensuring seamless data flow via APIs and ETL processes.
  • Create wireframes, mockups, and user interface designs to guide the development team.
  • Document business requirements documents (BRD), functional specifications, and detailed process flows.

Technical Knowledge and Expertise

  • Deep understanding of Metricstream M7 or similar audit planning platforms such as AuditBoard or TeamMate.
  • Experience with GRC tools like Archer or other governance, risk, and compliance platforms.
  • Familiarity with analytics platforms including Databricks, Tableau, and Power BI.
  • Understanding of technical concepts such as APIs, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
  • Proficiency in requirements documentation tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Azure DevOps.
  • Strong data analysis skills with hands-on experience in SQL.

Audit and Risk Domain Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of audit planning cycles, risk-based audit methodologies, and audit universe concepts.
  • Understanding of internal audit standards, including IIA Standards and the COSO framework.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in financial services such as SOX and GLBA.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment techniques and risk rating methodologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in financial services, audit, or risk management domains.
  • Proven track record of implementing enterprise audit management solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field; a Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CBAP, CIA, CISA, or CRMA are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $50 – $50 per year
