Role Overview: Data Architect – Snowflake

As we move into 2026, the landscape of enterprise data has shifted toward highly decentralized yet governed architectures. We are seeking a visionary Data Architect specializing in Snowflake to lead our data modernization efforts across our key hubs in Jersey City, Dallas, and Tampa. This role is critical for designing and maintaining scalable, high-performance Snowflake data warehouse architectures that support both legacy batch processing and modern real-time data ingestion streams. You will be at the forefront of defining and enforcing data modeling standards, ensuring that our data structures—whether dimensional, normalized, or hybrid—are perfectly tailored to Snowflake’s unique micro-partitioning and clustering architecture.

Key Responsibilities and Technical Leadership

  • Architecture Design: Architect data integration frameworks that support complex transformations, multi-source ingestion, and cross-domain data harmonization. You will be responsible for the end-to-end blueprint of our Snowflake environment, ensuring it meets the demands of 2026-scale data volumes.
  • Data Ingestion & Integration: Integrate data from diverse sources including modern APIs, on-premise legacy databases, cloud storage, and third-party feeds. You will ensure that data pipelines are resilient, fault-tolerant, and optimized for both performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Governance and Quality: Define and implement robust data quality frameworks and monitoring processes. In an era of increasing regulatory scrutiny, you will collaborate with data governance teams to ensure strict compliance with data privacy, security, and global regulatory requirements like GDPR and SOX.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and tune Snowflake workloads. This includes warehouse sizing, storage optimization, and query performance tuning to ensure our cloud spend remains optimized while delivering sub-second latency for critical business intelligence.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to engineering teams. You will lead design reviews and contribute to strategic planning for enterprise-wide data initiatives, translating complex business requirements into maintainable data strategies.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Data Engineering and at least 7 years of experience in data architecture or enterprise warehousing. You must demonstrate proven experience implementing large-scale Snowflake platforms in production. Deep expertise in Snowflake-specific features such as Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, Time Travel, and Data Sharing is mandatory. Furthermore, proficiency in Python, SQL, and orchestration tools like Airflow or dbt is essential for managing complex ETL/ELT pipelines. Strong communication skills are required to articulate architectural decisions to both technical teams and business stakeholders.
