Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Java API Developer for a critical onsite/hybrid role based in Boston, MA. This position is focused on the design, development, and implementation of robust RESTful APIs using Java 8+ and the Spring Boot framework. As a Senior Developer, you will be responsible for building scalable backend services that power our enterprise applications, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems, delivering high-availability and performance.
- Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle, from initial concept and design to testing and deployment.
- Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code that adheres to industry best practices.
- Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications and security standards.
- Prepare and produce releases of software components.
- Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Optimize application performance through profiling and tuning.
Technical Requirements
- Proven hands-on Software Development experience in Java.
- Extensive experience with Java 8 or higher versions.
- Deep understanding of the Spring Boot ecosystem, including Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
- Hands-on experience in designing and developing RESTful Web Services.
- Object-Oriented Analysis and design using common design patterns.
- Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
- Knowledge of relational databases (SQL) and ORM technologies (JPA, Hibernate).

The ideal candidate must be local to the Boston, MA area as this role requires a Face-to-Face (F2F) interview and regular onsite presence. We are looking for a proactive problem-solver who can work independently while also contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment. Strong communication skills are essential for articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This role is strictly for candidates with an Independent Visa status (USC/GC/EAD).

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
