Position Summary
We are looking for a motivated Jr. Business Analyst for a 12-month contract opportunity in Lansing, MI. This role operates on a hybrid schedule, and candidates must be local to Michigan to facilitate onsite collaboration. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that project requirements are clearly defined, documented, and tested throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Gathering: Facilitate sessions with stakeholders to elicit business requirements. Translate these needs into technical specifications, including the creation of epics, features, and user stories within Azure DevOps.
- Process Documentation: Analyze and document ‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’ business processes. Create detailed workflow diagrams and content to support project transitions and system implementations.
- Quality Assurance: Leverage 3+ years of QA knowledge to assist in the testing phase. Ensure that delivered solutions meet the defined business requirements and maintain high quality standards.
- Product Roadmap Management: Assist in the creation and maintenance of product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with long-term business goals and project timelines.
- Tool Proficiency: Utilize industry-standard tools such as Figma for prototyping and Visio for process mapping to visualize complex business logic and user interfaces.
Technical Skills and Methodologies
- Agile Environment: Work within an Agile framework, managing cards and project tasks through the lifecycle using tools like JIRA or Azure DevOps.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as a liaison between BA, QA, and DEV teams, ensuring clear communication of roles and responsibilities to prevent project bottlenecks.
- Lifecycle Management: Oversee the project lifecycle from initial discovery through to final delivery and post-implementation review.
Professional Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a Business Analyst role is required, complemented by a solid understanding of Quality Assurance principles. Proficiency in Figma and Visio is essential for success in this role.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $83,200 – $83,200 per year
