Position Summary
Vy Systems is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mobile Developer for a long-term contract engagement in Alameda, CA. This role is critical for our client, Brillio, as they continue to expand their digital footprint through high-performance mobile applications. With a requirement of over 10 years of professional experience, we are looking for a developer who has seen the evolution of the mobile landscape and can apply that deep knowledge to modern cross-platform development using React Native. You will be responsible for the entire application lifecycle, from initial design and architecture to deployment and post-launch maintenance, ensuring that every feature meets the highest standards of quality and performance.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain robust, scalable React Native applications for both iOS and Android platforms.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including UI/UX designers, product managers, and backend engineers, to define and ship innovative new features.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications through rigorous testing and optimization.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex bugs and performance bottlenecks, including memory leaks and UI jank.
- Integrate third-party APIs and develop custom native modules in Swift or Kotlin when necessary to extend React Native capabilities.
- Participate in and lead code reviews to maintain high code quality and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Stay current with the latest trends and updates in the React Native ecosystem and mobile development best practices.
- Manage the deployment process to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, ensuring compliance with all platform guidelines.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, with at least 2-3 years focused on React Native.
- Strong mastery of JavaScript and TypeScript, with a deep understanding of mobile app architecture and state management.
- Proven experience in deploying and managing applications with a large user base on both major app stores.
- Familiarity with native build tools such as Xcode, Android Studio, and Gradle.
- Extensive experience with RESTful APIs and modern data fetching techniques using GraphQL.
- Deep understanding of mobile UI/UX best practices and the ability to implement pixel-perfect designs.
- Proficiency with version control systems, specifically Git, and collaborative development workflows.
- Experience with native development (Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, or Java) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with mobile DevOps tools like Fastlane, Firebase, and CodePush for automated deployments and monitoring.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $160,000 – $220,000 per year (Estimated)
