Role Overview: Senior Full Stack Engineer (Java/Python)
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Engineer with a specialized background in Java and Python to join a high-impact financial services project in Plano, Texas. This role is specifically looking for candidates with previous experience at Capital One, as the project environment and technical standards are closely aligned with their internal engineering culture. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex web applications that serve millions of users in the financial sector.
Technical Requirements and Tech Stack
- Core Languages: Expert-level proficiency in Java and Python is mandatory. You should be comfortable switching between these languages to build robust backend services and data processing pipelines.
- Frontend Technologies: Strong experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, TypeScript, and HTML5/CSS3 to build responsive and intuitive user interfaces.
- Database Management: Extensive experience with Open-Source RDBMS (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB/Cassandra). Proficiency in SQL for complex query optimization is required.
- Cloud and DevOps: Deep expertise in AWS tools and services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS). Hands-on experience with Container Orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes is essential for our microservices architecture.
- Modern Tooling: Familiarity with Go (Golang) for high-performance service components is a significant plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement end-to-end solutions that are scalable, secure, and highly available.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to define project requirements and timelines.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code while adhering to industry best practices and internal coding standards.
- Participate in rigorous code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers.
- Optimize application performance and troubleshoot complex production issues in a cloud-native environment.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8-10 years of professional software development experience, with a significant portion spent in the financial services industry. A strong LinkedIn profile demonstrating a history of technical leadership and project delivery is required. Candidates must be local to the Dallas/Plano surrounding areas, as this role requires proximity to the local office for collaborative sessions. Previous experience working within the Capital One ecosystem is a strict requirement for this specific engagement to ensure a seamless transition into the project’s workflow and technical environment.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $190,000 per year (Estimated)
