Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Tech Lead with a robust background in software development to spearhead the design, construction, and operational management of advanced AI applications within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading the architecture and implementation of cutting-edge solutions, mentoring a team of talented engineers, and delivering comprehensive end-to-end products. Your primary focus will involve leveraging Azure Cognitive Services, Azure Functions, Azure Web Apps, Azure API Management (APIM), Azure Service Bus, and Python to drive innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and deploy sophisticated AI-powered microservices and web applications on the Azure platform.
- Build and integrate intelligent features using Azure Cognitive Services, including Language, Speech, Vision, and custom-trained models.
- Design and implement event-driven and serverless workflows utilizing Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Service Bus (queues and topics).
- Develop secure and scalable APIs through Azure API Management, ensuring proper versioning, throttling, and policy enforcement.
- Maintain security best practices by implementing Azure AD, Managed Identity, RBAC, private endpoints, and managing secrets within Azure Key Vault.
- Collaborate closely with data engineers and scientists to productionize AI/ML services and optimize complex data flows.
- Establish and maintain high coding standards, conduct rigorous code reviews, and mentor junior engineers to foster a high-performing team culture.
- Drive observability and monitoring strategies using Application Insights, Log Analytics, and establishing robust SLOs/SLAs and incident management protocols.
- Optimize system reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency through right-sizing, autoscaling, and FinOps practices.
- Lead CI/CD automation efforts with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, championing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for repeatable and reliable environments.
Project Context: Ask CDO Arch
This role directly supports the ‘Ask CDO Arch’ initiative, a high-profile internal client solution. This project utilizes Large Language Models (LLMs) to convert complex text inputs into accurate, high-fidelity cloud architecture diagrams. By automating this process, the initiative significantly accelerates design quality and delivery timelines for cloud infrastructure projects. As the Tech Lead, you will be at the forefront of integrating LLMs into practical, enterprise-grade tools that redefine how cloud architecture is designed and documented.
Technical Environment
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment utilizing Python 3.x with async patterns, packaging, and testing frameworks. You will navigate complex networking and VNet integrations while applying microservice design patterns. Preferred experience includes containerization with Docker and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), as well as data storage solutions like Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, and Blob Storage. This position requires a blend of deep technical expertise and the ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $175,000 – $225,000 per year (Estimated)
