Position Summary: Scrum Master
iTech US, Inc. is looking for a seasoned Scrum Master for a long-term onsite contract engagement in Plano, Texas. This role requires a dedicated servant leader who can manage one or more cross-functional teams within a fast-paced software development environment. The ideal candidate will have over a decade of professional experience and a proven track record of fostering Agile maturity and delivering high-quality software products. As a Scrum Master, you will be the primary facilitator for Agile ceremonies and the chief advocate for the Scrum framework within your teams.
Core Responsibilities
- Facilitate all standard Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives, ensuring they remain productive and focused.
- Act as a proactive blocker-remover, identifying and resolving impediments that hinder the team’s progress by liaising with external stakeholders and management.
- Coach the team and the broader organization on Agile/Scrum best practices to ensure a sustainable development pace and high-value delivery.
- Manage and maintain Jira dashboards, tracking critical Agile metrics such as velocity and burn-down charts to provide transparency to leadership.
- Partner with Product Owners to refine backlogs, prioritize user stories, and ensure the team is aligned with organizational strategic goals.
- Support Scaled Agile (SAFe) initiatives, including participation in PI Planning and managing complex cross-team dependencies.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of total professional experience, with at least 5-8 years specifically serving as a Scrum Master.
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
- Active certification as a Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM).
- Expert-level proficiency with Agile management tools, specifically Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Exceptional soft skills, including conflict resolution, leadership, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
- Direct experience working within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
- Domain expertise in highly regulated industries such as Insurance, Banking, or Government Technology.
- A technical background in IT infrastructure or cloud-based technologies is a significant plus.
