Role Overview
As we move into 2026, the integration of Artificial Intelligence within the software development lifecycle has become paramount. We are seeking a highly skilled AI Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our innovative team in Charlotte, NC. This role is designed for a forward-thinking professional who is passionate about quality engineering and the application of AI/ML paradigms to ensure a zero-defect product culture. You will work in a hybrid capacity, spending three days onsite in our state-of-the-art Charlotte facility and two days working remotely, allowing for a balanced and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and champion a culture of quality that ensures zero defects leak into production environments through advanced automation and AI-driven testing strategies.
- Deeply understand and adopt enterprise-level quality requirements, integrating core processes into the daily development workflow.
- Implement and lead ‘shift-left’ test strategies across various business lines to identify and resolve issues earlier in the development cycle.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks leveraging open-source tools and custom Python scripts.
- Actively participate in Agile (Scrum) ceremonies, providing technical insights during sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Perform comprehensive testing activities, including functional, integration, regression, and performance testing for AI-powered applications.
- Collaborate with data scientists and developers to understand AI model risks and implement appropriate validation techniques.
- Utilize AWS services such as S3 and Lambda to build scalable and efficient test environments and data pipelines.
- Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GIT, GitLab, and Docker to ensure seamless code deployment and testing.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in testing automation engineering with a strong focus on functional and API-based testing.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is highly preferred.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python for automation and scripting.
- Proven experience in writing end-to-end test scripts for complex distributed systems.
- Strong SQL skills for performing complex data queries and validating data integrity.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, specifically S3, Lambda, and EC2.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD technologies, including GIT, GitLab, and containerization with Docker.
- Familiarity with AI paradigms, machine learning models, and the unique challenges associated with testing non-deterministic systems.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in the financial services sector is a significant plus, particularly in testing high-stakes technology implementations.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $195,000 per year (Estimated)
