Position Overview
ArkInfotech Spectrum is looking for a seasoned SAP MES (Manufacturing Execution System) Consultant for a strategic hybrid role in Morris Plains, New Jersey. With over 12 years of professional experience required, this individual will serve as a functional lead in designing and implementing state-of-the-art manufacturing solutions. The focus of this role is to bridge the gap between shop-floor operations and enterprise-level planning through the integration of SAP S/4HANA and Digital Manufacturing Cloud (DMC) technologies. This is a high-impact position aimed at driving manufacturing efficiency, ensuring real-time visibility, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the production environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end implementation and rollout of SAP MES, ME, MII, and Digital Manufacturing (DMC) solutions for global clients.
- Conduct detailed requirement gathering sessions with business stakeholders to translate complex manufacturing needs into functional specifications.
- Configure core MES processes including production execution, work instructions, and quality inspections to optimize shop-floor workflows.
- Design and implement genealogy and traceability solutions to ensure product compliance and comprehensive history tracking.
- Manage non-conformance and rework processes within the MES environment to maintain high quality standards and reduce waste.
- Integrate SAP MES with S/4HANA modules such as Production Planning (PP), Quality Management (QM), Materials Management (MM), and Plant Maintenance (PM).
- Establish connectivity between MES and shop-floor hardware, including PLCs and third-party systems, using standard integration protocols.
- Support end-to-end manufacturing process mapping for various models including Make-to-Stock (MTS), Make-to-Order (MTO), and Engineer-to-Order (ETO).
- Prepare comprehensive functional design documents for custom enhancements, reports, and user interfaces.
- Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT), cutover activities, and provide hypercare support post-go-live to ensure a smooth transition.
- Mentor junior consultants and collaborate with global cross-functional teams to ensure project success and knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 12 years of overall IT experience, with at least 5 years specifically in SAP MES/DMC implementations and rollouts.
- Proven experience with at least one full-cycle SAP MES implementation from blueprinting through to final support.
- Deep functional knowledge of Discrete, Process, and Repetitive manufacturing environments and their unique challenges.
- Hands-on expertise in Production Orders, BOMs, Routings, and Work Center configuration within the SAP ecosystem.
- Technical understanding of REST/SOAP services, IDocs, and RFCs from a functional perspective to facilitate system integration.
- Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts, IIoT, and smart factory initiatives to drive digital transformation.
Preferred Skills
- Official SAP MES or SAP DMC certification is highly desirable.
- Experience with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) for extending MES functionalities and building custom apps.
- Knowledge of OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) dashboards and manufacturing analytics for performance tracking.
- Exposure to the process industry and its specific regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, GMP).

Compensation & Location
Salary: $155,000 – $205,000 per year (Estimated)
