Position Summary: QA Analyst (Contract)
Our client is looking for a dedicated QA Analyst to join their dynamic team in Auburn Hills, MI. This is a 12-month contract role designed for a professional with 5 to 8 years of experience in the IT and Software sector. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining the high standards of software quality that our clients expect. You will be tasked with navigating complex software ecosystems, identifying vulnerabilities, and ensuring that every release meets rigorous performance and functional benchmarks. This role is specifically tailored for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and possess the technical acumen to handle diverse testing requirements across multiple platforms.
Core Responsibilities and Duties
- Agile Participation: Actively participate in all Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, grooming sessions, and daily stand-ups. You will be responsible for providing realistic QA estimates and ensuring that quality is baked into the development process from the start.
- Test Development: Create, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases. You will perform Requirements Ambiguity Analysis to ensure that project goals are clearly defined and testable.
- Defect Management: Utilize JIRA to track, report, and manage software defects. You will work closely with the development team to reproduce issues and verify fixes, ensuring a closed-loop communication cycle.
- API and Backend Testing: Leverage your technical expertise in SQL and Unix to perform backend validation. You will use tools like SOAPUI and Postman to conduct thorough API testing, ensuring that data exchange between services is accurate and secure.
- Mobile Application Testing: Conduct rigorous testing on mobile applications for both Android and iOS platforms. This includes functional testing, UI/UX verification, and compatibility testing across various devices and OS versions.
- Connected Vehicle Services: Apply specialized knowledge to test connected vehicle features, which may include telematics, infotainment systems, and remote vehicle management.
Technical Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a QA role, with a proven track record of success in complex software projects.
- Tools: Proficiency with JIRA, SOAPUI, Postman, and standard SQL/Unix commands.
- Methodologies: Deep understanding of QA methodologies, including Black Box, White Box, and Grey Box testing.
- Environment: Ability to work in a multi-environment setup, managing test cycles across Dev, QA, UAT, and Staging.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $114,400 – $156,000 per year (Estimated)
