This position focuses on bridging legacy systems with modern cloud-native architectures using IBM Integration Bus (IIB), App Connect Enterprise (ACE), and Java-based microservices. As the digital landscape evolves toward 2026, the demand for seamless data flow between on-premise enterprise service buses and distributed cloud environments has never been higher. • Architect and implement scalable Java Microservices using Spring Boot and Spring Cloud frameworks to modernize the middleware layer and support high-concurrency environments.
  • Develop RESTful and SOAP-based web services, ensuring high performance and security standards are met for financial and insurance sector clients in the Hartford area.
  • Utilize ESQL, Java, and graphical mapping within ACE/IIB to transform data formats across various protocols including MQ, HTTP, and File systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define API contracts and ensure robust integration between frontend applications and backend systems.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support end-to-end system testing using automated tools like JUnit, Mockito, and Postman.
  • Optimize existing integration patterns to reduce latency and improve system reliability through proactive monitoring and performance tuning.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for integration architectures, deployment guides, and support procedures to ensure knowledge transfer.

Technical Requirements

  • Extensive experience with IBM Integration Bus (IIB) v10 and IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) v11/v12 in a production environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Java 11+ and Spring Boot for microservices development, including experience with Spring Security and Data.
  • Hands-on experience with messaging middleware such as IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, or Apache Kafka.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes (OpenShift preferred) for deploying microservices.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps to automate the build and deployment process.
  • Experience with database technologies including Oracle, SQL Server, and NoSQL options like MongoDB or Cassandra.
  • Understanding of security protocols such as OAuth2, JWT, and SSL/TLS for securing integration endpoints.
