Role Overview
The Geo Analytics Project Manager is a pivotal role designed to oversee and streamline complex information technology projects with a specific focus on geospatial data analytics. This position is primarily remote; however, there is a strong preference for candidates located within a three-hour commuting distance of Middletown, Pennsylvania. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire project lifecycle, from initial conception and planning through execution, monitoring, and final closure. This role requires a high degree of coordination between internal technical teams and external vendors to ensure that all project milestones are met on time and within budget. You will be expected to adhere to the established PMO Playbook, utilizing standardized templates and methodologies to maintain consistency across the organization’s portfolio. The project environment is fast-paced and requires a leader who can navigate technical challenges while maintaining clear communication with non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Directly manage and coordinate the activities of both internal staff and external consultants involved in multiple IT projects of varying complexity.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, risk registers, and communication plans using established project management standards.
- Collaborate closely with business owners and analysts to define project scope, objectives, and success criteria.
- Perform comprehensive project management duties throughout the lifecycle, including resource allocation and budget tracking.
- Facilitate lessons learned sessions to identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices.
- Build and sustain productive working relationships with technology stakeholders, project sponsors, and key clients.
- Ensure all project artifacts are updated and stored according to the PMO Playbook requirements.
- Provide regular status reports to executive leadership regarding project health and potential risks.
- Monitor project timelines and adjust resources as necessary to prevent scope creep and ensure timely delivery.
Technical and Professional Requirements
- A minimum of five years of professional experience in project management, specifically handling integration, scope, and vendor management.
- Proven experience following a structured PMO Playbook or similar organizational standards.
- Technical proficiency with ServiceNow, particularly within the Idea, Project, and Demand modules.
- Prior experience in the transportation sector or with GeoAnalytics projects is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ITIL and ITSM practices to ensure service alignment.
- Experience using Azure DevOps for task tracking and sprint management.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, and a PMP certification is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex geospatial data sets.
Engagement and Logistics
This engagement is initially set for a duration of 6 to 12 months. While the work is virtual, candidates must be prepared to report onsite to Middletown, PA, for planned implementations or system emergencies. Virtual work expectations include the mandatory use of cameras during all meetings to maintain a professional and collaborative environment. Candidates must undergo rigorous onboarding, including state and national criminal background checks. All necessary computer equipment, such as laptops and monitors, will be provided by the client and must be returned in good condition at the end of the contract. This role demands a professional appearance and the ability to work effectively in a high-stakes IT environment. The rate provided is inclusive of any travel costs if the resource is within the 3-hour commuting radius. Compensation & Location
Salary: $135,000 – $175,000 per year
