Role Overview
The Business Analyst – Payments role is a senior-level position focused on implementing vendor applications to support multiple payment types within a major financial institution (KeyBank). Located onsite in Cleveland, OH, this role requires a specialist who can bridge the gap between technical systems and business needs, specifically focusing on complex data mapping and system integration. You will report to the Lead Business Analyst within the Commercial Digital Delivery team and work with a cross-functional group to ensure seamless payment processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Define technical and system requirements for integrating vendor solutions with back-end payment rails such as ACH, Wire, Book Transfer, and Real-Time Payments (RTP).
- Lead data mapping activities between internal bank schemas and vendor systems to facilitate seamless data conversion.
- Identify and resolve complex non-1:1 data mapping challenges to ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, document, and analyze technical requirements.
- Translate business needs into detailed user stories, use cases, and technical specifications.
- Prepare process flow diagrams and comprehensive technical documentation for stakeholders.
- Utilize SQL to analyze business data and provide actionable insights.
- Present data findings using effective visualization techniques to drive decision-making.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, and Retrospectives.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and troubleshoot system issues during the implementation phase.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and maintain strong collaboration across business and technical units.
- Adhere to strict banking policies, ethical standards, and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 8 to 12 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst, specifically within the financial services or payments sector.
- Proven track record in vendor system integration and back-end system connectivity.
- Extensive experience in data mapping and handling complex conversion scenarios.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to facilitate discussions between business and technical teams.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to precision in technical documentation.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Familiarity with modern payment rails (ACH, Wire, RTP) and banking compliance standards.
- Experience in data conversion between legacy and modern systems.
- Ability to work 100% onsite in Cleveland, OH.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $125,000 – $165,000 per year (Estimated)
