Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Business Analyst specializing in Payments and Banking systems to join our Commercial Digital Delivery team. This is a critical role focused on the integration of vendor applications with core banking systems. The ideal candidate will have 8-12 years of professional experience, with a deep understanding of payment rails such as ACH, Wire, and RTP. You will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical development teams, ensuring that complex data mapping and system requirements are meticulously documented and executed. This position requires a professional who can navigate the complexities of financial data schemas and vendor system conversions while maintaining a high level of precision and ethical conduct.
Key Responsibilities
- Define comprehensive system requirements for integrating third-party vendor solutions with back-end payment rails, including ACH, Wire, Book Transfer, and Real-Time Payments (RTP).
- Lead data mapping initiatives, translating KeyBank database schemas to vendor system schemas to facilitate seamless data conversion and migration.
- Conduct thorough requirements gathering and analysis by collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to elicit and document technical specifications.
- Translate high-level business needs into actionable user stories, use cases, and technical documentation for engineering and development teams.
- Develop detailed process flow diagrams and technical documentation to support system architecture and workflow understanding.
- Evaluate existing business processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend strategic improvements for digital delivery and payment processing.
- Utilize SQL to collect, analyze, and interpret complex business data, providing insights through effective visualization techniques.
- Support the Lead Business Analyst in managing the project lifecycle within an Agile framework, ensuring all deliverables meet quality standards.
- Participate in all Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure alignment across the team.
- Facilitate communication between business and technical teams to manage stakeholder expectations and foster collaborative relationships.
Technical Skills and Qualifications
- Proven expertise in vendor integration and data mapping, specifically handling non-1:1 mapping scenarios and complex data transformations.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data validation, manipulation, and reporting purposes.
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, including participation in Scrum or Kanban approaches and managing backlogs in Jira and Confluence.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in vendor integration and data mapping, though 8-12 years of total BA experience is expected for this senior-level position.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team with high levels of precision and attention to detail.
Domain Expertise: Payments & Banking
- Deep knowledge of commercial payment types and banking operations, specifically within the US financial landscape.
- Experience working within a bank domain is mandatory, specifically focusing on commercial digital delivery and payment rail integration.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance and ethical business conduct within the financial services industry.
- Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and foster collaborative relationships across various bank departments and external vendors.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $115,000 – $165,000 per year
