Role Overview
Metrix IT Solutions INC is seeking a highly experienced Oracle PeopleSoft Technical Consultant for a critical contract engagement based in Durham, North Carolina. This role is designed for a seasoned professional with a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in the support, maintenance, and enhancement of PeopleSoft 9.1 and 9.2 systems. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability and efficiency of enterprise-level applications, specifically focusing on Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Financial modules.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert-level L2 and L3 technical support for PeopleSoft 9.1/9.2 environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Deep dive into core business processes including Procurement, Inventory Management, Manufacturing, and Cost Accounting to resolve complex system issues.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for production support, identifying root causes and implementing permanent technical fixes.
- Design, develop, and document sophisticated customizations and enhancements using the PeopleTools suite.
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) for technical solutions, from initial requirement gathering to final testing and deployment.
- Collaborate closely with business users and functional analysts to align technical developments with evolving business needs.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to both onsite and offshore development and support teams.
- Manage the seamless handoff of tasks between onsite and offshore resources to maintain 24/7 operational support.
Technical Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience specifically within PeopleSoft technical environments.
- Expertise in PeopleTools, including Application Engine, PeopleCode, Component Interface, and SQR.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and database performance tuning within an Oracle environment.
- Proven experience in PeopleSoft 9.2 upgrades and PUM (PeopleSoft Update Manager) image applications.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with minimal supervision.
Domain Expertise
- Comprehensive understanding of Procurement workflows, including requisitioning and purchase order processing.
- In-depth knowledge of Inventory Management and warehouse logistics within the PeopleSoft framework.
- Familiarity with Manufacturing modules and the intricacies of Cost Accounting and financial reporting.
- Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into robust technical specifications.
