Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Privileged Access Management (PAM) Engineer to join our cybersecurity team. In today’s threat landscape, the management of privileged credentials is the most critical component of an organization’s security posture. This role is dedicated to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of our PAM platforms, ensuring that all administrative access—whether by human users or automated processes—is strictly controlled, monitored, and audited. As a Senior Engineer, you will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), guiding the organization through complex security transformations and ensuring that our PAM strategy aligns with Zero Trust principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and deploy enterprise-wide PAM solutions for both internal workforce and external vendors, ensuring secure access across hybrid-cloud environments.
  • Lead major platform initiatives, including version upgrades, infrastructure migrations, and the re-architecting of legacy access models.
  • Define and enforce privileged access security standards, establishing configuration baselines that minimize the attack surface.
  • Manage Non-Human Identities (NHI) and service accounts, implementing automated rotation and vaulting to eliminate hardcoded credentials.
  • Implement and maintain administrative tiering models (Tier 0/1/2) to prevent lateral movement and protect the core identity provider.
  • Develop comprehensive PAM onboarding playbooks for new applications, databases, and server environments, ensuring a standardized approach to security.
  • Monitor the health and performance of the PAM infrastructure, creating detailed KPI dashboards to track compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Automate routine PAM tasks using Python, PowerShell, or Bash to improve response times and reduce manual errors.
  • Integrate PAM solutions with broader Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Single Sign-On (SSO) ecosystems, such as Okta or Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Collaborate with audit and compliance teams to ensure the PAM platform meets regulatory requirements such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and HIPAA.

Required Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in Information Technology, with at least 8 years focused on Identity and Access Management (IAM) and 5 years specifically dedicated to PAM engineering. Expertise with leading PAM platforms—such as CyberArk, Delinea (formerly Thycotic), or HashiCorp Vault—is essential. You must demonstrate a deep understanding of core privileged access concepts, including credential vaulting, session monitoring (PSM), Just-In-Time (JIT) access, and Just Enough Administration (JEA). Technical proficiency in securing access across diverse platforms, including Windows/Linux servers, SQL/NoSQL databases, and cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP), is required. Strong scripting skills in Python or PowerShell are necessary for automating complex security workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with vendor-specific certifications (e.g., CyberArk Sentry/Guardian, Delinea Certified Professional) will be given priority. Experience working within a Healthcare environment is highly desirable, as it provides the necessary context for managing sensitive patient data and complying with strict regulatory frameworks. Familiarity with Zero Trust security architectures and the integration of PAM with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools like ServiceNow will also be considered a significant advantage. This is a remote position that requires a self-motivated individual capable of managing complex projects independently while maintaining high security standards.

Special Requirements

Healthcare culture experience preferred; Experience with Zero Trust security architectures.
