Role Overview

The Senior PeopleSoft Financials Developer role is a critical technical position responsible for the ongoing enhancement, maintenance, and optimization of our PeopleSoft ERP environment. This remote contract position requires a developer with a “heavy-duty” technical background in PeopleTools and a comprehensive understanding of the Financials (FSCM) suite. The primary focus will be on the General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Asset Management (AM), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Treasury/Cash Management modules. You will be expected to write sophisticated PeopleCode to handle complex business logic and data validation. A significant portion of the work involves using Application Engine for batch processing and File Layouts for data integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain PeopleSoft Financials modules including GL, AP, AM, AR, Treasury, and Cash Management.
  • Utilize technical tools such as Application Engine, File Layouts, SQR, XML Publisher, Application Packages, and Component Interfaces.
  • Lead PeopleTools upgrades and PUM image applications to ensure system currency.
  • Design and implement Fluid development components, including Tiles and Homepages for modern user interfaces.
  • Generate complex reports using nVision and BI Publisher to meet financial reporting requirements.
  • Perform end-to-end system integration testing and external interface configuration.
  • Write complex SQL queries to resolve data integrity issues and troubleshoot production failures.
  • Collaborate with business analysts to translate functional requirements into robust technical designs.

Technical Environment

Integration is another key area; you will develop and maintain web services to facilitate data exchange between PeopleSoft and third-party applications. This requires a deep understanding of Integration Broker and REST/SOAP protocols. Troubleshooting production issues is a daily reality, and you must be proficient in using SQL to query large datasets, identify anomalies, and perform data corrections. You will also work with job scheduling tools like Control-M to manage and monitor batch cycles. Collaboration is key; you will work closely with business analysts to translate functional requirements into robust technical designs. You will be responsible for the entire software development life cycle (SDLC), from initial design and coding to system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) support. Experience with change control tools such as PHIRE or STAT is required to ensure code integrity and compliance with our internal audit standards. This role offers the opportunity to work on a high-performing team and contribute to the success of a large-scale financial system.
