Role Overview
ConvexTech Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Embedded Software Engineer for a critical 6-month Contract-to-Hire (C2H) position located onsite in Dallas, Texas. This role is designed for a technical leader who can navigate the complexities of embedded systems development, from initial architectural design through to final product delivery. As a senior member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for the successful implementation and delivery of embedded software products and components throughout the entire product lifecycle. This position requires a professional who is not only a master of C/C++ but also possesses a deep understanding of hardware/software integration and modern control theory.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to design, plan, develop, and maintain robust embedded software components.
- Take full ownership of project deliverables, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and meet the highest quality standards.
- Define technical requirements in coordination with internal and external stakeholders, including marketing, manufacturing, and customer support groups.
- Actively participate in the definition and implementation of new software development processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and create innovative technologies and ideas to expand the organization’s intellectual property portfolio and better address evolving customer needs.
- Conduct technical feasibility analyses and lead prototyping activities for next-generation embedded solutions.
- Develop unit test-driven software components to ensure reliability and maintainability.
- Collaborate across multiple functional teams, including Hardware, Testing, and Manufacturing, to deliver sound technical solutions.
- Drive product and process improvements throughout the software organization, mentoring junior engineers and promoting best practices.
Technical Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field is strictly required.
- Minimum of 8+ years of professional experience in embedded software development using C and C++.
- Proven expertise in system architecture, design, and hardware/software integration.
- Strong familiarity with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and Linux application process development.
- Experience with modern control theory and its practical applications in embedded environments.
- Knowledge of Embedded Security protocols and wireless technologies.
- Proficiency with Configuration Management tools and static/dynamic analysis software tools.
- Experience working within both Waterfall and Iterative (Agile) software development processes.
- Background in the design of analog and digital circuits and control boards is highly preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with third-party vendors and offshore development teams as required.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $135,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
