Role Overview: Senior Data Engineer
Qualis 1 Inc is looking for a seasoned Data Engineer with over 10 years of experience to lead the development of our Databricks Lakehouse architecture. This role is critical for our client’s marketing, sales, and customer experience (CX) analytics initiatives. You will be responsible for building and maintaining scalable data pipelines that support complex analytical needs and enable data-driven decision-making across the enterprise.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and manage batch and streaming data pipelines using Databricks (Spark/PySpark, Delta Live Tables).
- Design and implement curated datasets for key business domains including accounts, contacts, campaigns, and web analytics.
- Implement robust data quality, validation, and observability frameworks to ensure data integrity.
- Enable Power BI semantic models and Adobe CJA data views, including complex identity stitching.
- Integrate various APIs, connectors, and third-party data sources into the Lakehouse environment.
- Optimize Spark jobs for performance and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs and standardize data models.
- Ensure CI/CD automation for all data engineering workflows.
Technical Skills and Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering with a focus on large-scale data systems.
- Expertise in Databricks Lakehouse components: Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Delta Live Tables.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation and analysis.
- Deep understanding of data modeling techniques (Star Schema, Snowflake, Data Vault).
- Experience with real-time ingestion and job orchestration tools.
- Familiarity with Analytics tools like Power BI (DAX) and Adobe Customer Journey Analytics (CJA).
- Knowledge of CRM systems (Salesforce/Leads) and Marketing Engagement platforms.
- Strong background in identity resolution and paid media data integration.
Project Details
This is a 12+ month contract position based in San Jose, CA, with remote flexibility. The role requires a high level of technical leadership and the ability to work independently in a complex data environment. We are looking for candidates who can start immediately and contribute to the long-term success of our analytics platform.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $155,000 – $210,000 per year
