Position Summary
Quantum World Technologies is looking for a dedicated Historian Application Support Specialist for a long-term onsite contract in Cincinnati, OH. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity and performance of our GE Historian environments, which serve as the backbone for our supply chain and manufacturing data analytics. You will be responsible for the operational health of a central cluster environment comprising over 60 servers, ensuring that critical machine data is captured, stored, and accessible for real-time decision-making.
Core Responsibilities
- Execute application-level patching for GE Historian and associated software components, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing operations.
- Manage and resolve complex support tickets related to data historian defects, tracing data flows from the factory floor through MTConnect and IGS/KepServer to the central repository.
- Coordinate with GE Digital support teams to escalate and resolve underlying software issues, acting as the primary technical point of contact for the client.
- Perform routine maintenance on Windows Services, including starting/stopping services to facilitate updates and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
- Utilize REGEDIT and other system tools to configure application parameters and optimize performance for high-volume data ingestion.
- Manage security certificates and firewall exceptions to ensure secure and reliable data transmission across the network.
- Collaborate with site-level engineering teams to onboard new machinery and integrate local historian collectors into the central architecture.
Technical Stack and Expertise
Candidates must have a robust background in industrial automation software and time-series databases. Deep expertise in GE Historian is mandatory, along with a strong understanding of IGS (Industrial Gateway Server) and KepServer. Proficiency in VB Script is required for editing STATE tags and automating routine data tasks. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of competency in Windows environment administration, specifically regarding application installation, patching, and service management. Experience with MTConnect or equivalent protocols for machine tool data collection is highly valued. This role requires a proactive troubleshooter who can navigate the complexities of modern manufacturing IT infrastructure and ensure 24/7 data availability in a high-stakes environment.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $98,000 – $135,000 per year
