Role Overview: Ruby on Rails Tech Lead
We are looking for a visionary Ruby on Rails Tech Lead to spearhead a strategic integration project in Mountain View, California. This role is pivotal in merging a newly acquired Ruby on Rails-based product with our core Java-based application ecosystem. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end integration strategy for Ruby on Rails and Java platforms.
- Act as the primary technical liaison between the Ruby on Rails and Java engineering teams.
- Facilitate high-level technical discussions and drive decision-making across leadership teams.
- Evaluate various integration approaches (e.g., microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture) and recommend the best-fit solution.
- Define the architectural roadmap, focusing on scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Identify and resolve cross-platform conflicts, technical debt, and architectural gaps.
- Mentor and guide development teams throughout the integration lifecycle, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Leverage AI tools to optimize design workflows, accelerate decision-making, and improve overall productivity.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional experience in software development and system architecture.
- Proven expertise in both Ruby on Rails and Java-based architectures.
- Deep understanding of system integration, microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud-native deployments.
- Strong background in defining and executing architectural roadmaps for complex enterprise systems.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
- Experience leading cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
