Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Administrator to manage and optimize complex database environments. This role is ideal for a technical leader with a deep background in Oracle and SQL Server administration, specifically within large-scale, high-availability production settings. The successful candidate will bring over 17 years of hands-on expertise to drive stability, performance, and security across diverse platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support large-scale Oracle environments (versions 8i through 19c), including RAC, Data Guard, and ASM.
  • Administer Very Large Databases (VLDB) up to 100TB, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • Execute comprehensive performance tuning, diagnostic monitoring, and query optimization to maintain system health.
  • Implement robust backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and other industry-standard tools.
  • Design and maintain high-availability architectures to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Oversee security and encryption protocols, including Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and rigorous auditing.
  • Lead complex upgrade and migration projects, transitioning legacy systems to modern database versions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and application development teams to align database infrastructure with business requirements.
  • Provide mentorship to junior DBAs and establish organizational best practices for database management.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 17 years of professional experience in Database Administration within the US and Canada.
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) designation is highly preferred.
  • Expertise in Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and SQL Server environments.
  • Proven track record of managing production environments for global enterprises.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative team environment.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $155,000 – $205,000 per year (Estimated)
