Position Summary: Site Reliability Engineer

iTech US is looking for a dedicated Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our engineering team in Mt. Laurel, NJ. This role is designed for a professional who bridges the gap between software development and systems operations, ensuring that our production environments are reliable, scalable, and efficient. In 2026, the role of the SRE has evolved to include a heavy emphasis on automated observability and proactive risk management, particularly within highly regulated industries.

Core Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs) to define and measure product availability.
  • Implement advanced observability standards to monitor system health and anticipate potential failures before they impact users.
  • Exercise decision rights regarding production readiness, including the authority to reject operationally substandard code.
  • Lead blameless post-mortem reviews to engineer long-term solutions and prevent the recurrence of production errors.
  • Collaborate with governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) teams to ensure all engineering tools and processes meet regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain highly complex, scalable production computing infrastructure with a focus on automation and toil reduction.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and innovative solutions to build more robust platform domains.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong background in software engineering and systems architecture.
  • Expertise in observability tools and monitoring frameworks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Experience with cloud-native technologies and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Proven ability to manage operational risk and navigate complex audit/compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a systematic approach to troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • Effective communication skills for leading cross-functional enterprise initiatives.

Compliance and Regulatory Focus

Given the nature of our clients, this role requires a high degree of sensitivity to regulatory operational risk. You will be expected to consult on risk issues and ensure that all engineering activities align with the organization’s risk appetite. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys the challenge of maintaining high-performance systems within a structured, compliant environment.

Educational Requirements

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field is required.

Special Requirements

H1B candidates ONLY. Passport number MUST be provided for screening.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $140,000 – $190,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Mt. Laurel, NJ
