Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Power BI Developer and Business Intelligence Architect to lead data modeling and visualization initiatives. With over 12 years of professional experience, the ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex BI solutions that drive strategic decision-making. This role requires a deep understanding of data architecture, ETL processes, and advanced analytics within the Microsoft ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise-level Power BI dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Develop complex data models using DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query (M) to ensure high performance and accuracy.
- Architect end-to-end BI solutions, including data ingestion, transformation, and visualization layers.
- Collaborate with business units to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Optimize existing Power BI reports for performance, scalability, and usability.
- Implement row-level security (RLS) and manage workspace permissions to ensure data governance and security compliance.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership on BI best practices and standards.
- Integrate Power BI with various data sources, including SQL Server, Azure Data Lake, and cloud-based APIs.
- Conduct data validation and quality assurance to ensure the integrity of all reporting outputs.
- Stay current with the latest features and updates in the Power BI ecosystem and recommend adoption strategies.
Technical Requirements
- Extensive experience with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Report Server.
- Expert-level proficiency in DAX and Power Query for advanced data manipulation and calculation.
- Strong background in SQL Server, including T-SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- Proven experience in data modeling techniques, such as Star Schema and Snowflake Schema.
- Familiarity with Azure data services (Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse) is highly preferred.
- Experience with other BI tools like Tableau or Qlik is a plus but not required.
- Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT methodologies.
Professional Qualifications
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data findings to non-technical audiences.
- Proven track record of delivering high-impact BI projects in a corporate environment.
- Ability to work effectively in both onsite and hybrid work models.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $140,000 – $190,000 per year (Estimated)
