Position Summary
Clevanoo LLC is looking for a talented and motivated Data Engineer to join our client’s team in New York City. This is a 12-month contract position with a hybrid work schedule, offering the opportunity to work on high-profile data projects in a dynamic environment. We are seeking a candidate with over 7 years of experience in data engineering who possesses a strong technical background and a passion for building scalable data solutions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of manipulating large datasets, designing efficient data pipelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business value through data.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into data warehouses.
- Design and implement data models and database schemas that support high-performance analytics and reporting.
- Write complex SQL queries and optimize database performance across multiple platforms, including Sybase, SQL Server, and Postgres.
- Utilize programming languages such as Python, Java, or C# to build custom data processing tools and frameworks.
- Apply machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques, such as regression and clustering, to extract insights from large datasets.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data products.
- Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing automated testing and monitoring throughout the data lifecycle.
- Support and maintain data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI to enable data-driven decision-making.
- Work within a hybrid environment, balancing onsite collaboration in NYC with remote productivity.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices within the team.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of professional experience in a Data Engineering role.
- Advanced knowledge of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and database design principles.
- Expertise in SQL authoring and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with Python and its data science libraries (Pandas, NumPy).
- Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica and cloud data platforms like Snowflake or Databricks.
- Familiarity with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, PySpark, and Hive is a significant plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Contract Details
This is a 12+ month contract role. Compensation must be on a W2 or 1099 basis; C2C or C2H arrangements are not permitted. Candidates must be US Citizens or Green Card holders. The role is based in New York City and follows a hybrid work model.

Rate MUST be on W2 or 1099 (NO C2C/C2H); Need USC or GC (NO Other Visa's); Hybrid work mode.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $180,000 – $240,000 per year (Estimated)
