Role Overview
SunRay Enterprise Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automation Engineer to join our client’s team in Mountain View, California. This is a long-term contract position requiring a 5-day onsite presence. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust test automation frameworks for consumer electronics devices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate manual test cases into automated scripts, ensuring high stability and availability of testbeds. This role is critical for the validation of next-generation hardware and software components in a fast-paced development environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using Python to validate consumer electronics hardware and software.
- Utilize and extend in-house test automation frameworks to accommodate new features and specific testing requirements.
- Analyze existing manual test cases and efficiently convert them into scalable automated test suites.
- Implement industry best practices and leverage cutting-edge tools and technologies to enhance the automation pipeline.
- Maintain and troubleshoot test infrastructure and testbeds to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
- Perform deep-dive log analysis using Android adb commands to identify and report software defects.
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to define test strategies for wireless protocols including UWB, NFC, and BLE.
- Document test results, track bugs, and provide detailed reports to stakeholders.
Technical Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5-8+ years of professional experience in test automation, specifically within the consumer electronics domain.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python scripting for automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Android adb commands and system log analysis.
- Proven track record of developing and maintaining automation frameworks from the ground up.
- Experience with wireless communication protocols (UWB, NFC, BLE) is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, onsite environment.
- Strong communication skills to interact with cross-functional engineering teams.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $195,000 per year (Estimated)
