Role Overview
The Application Software Solution Architect will be a pivotal figure in our healthcare technology division, specifically focusing on the Rhapsody Integration Engine. This role requires a seasoned professional with over 12 years of experience in software architecture and a deep understanding of the healthcare domain. You will be responsible for designing and implementing complex integration solutions that facilitate the seamless exchange of health information across various platforms. As the healthcare landscape continues to evolve towards interoperability, your role will be critical in ensuring that patient data is accessible, secure, and actionable across the continuum of care. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects that directly influence the quality of healthcare delivery at a state level.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and develop end-to-end solutions for new healthcare use cases, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Design and build robust interfaces based on intricate business requirements and technical specifications.
- Utilize the Rhapsody Developer Kit (RDK) to create custom filters and mappers tailored to specific data needs.
- Develop sophisticated API calls using SOAP, REST, and web services to integrate disparate systems.
- Perform complex data translations between formats such as HL7v2, HL7v3, FHIR, CCDA, XML, and JSON.
- Lead the creation of technical requirements and system design documents, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Oversee the overall system configuration and code quality, conducting thorough code reviews and maintaining SDLC documentation.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative stakeholders to understand data flow requirements and translate them into technical designs.
- Mentor junior developers and integration specialists, providing guidance on best practices for Rhapsody development.
- Stay abreast of emerging healthcare standards and technologies, recommending updates to the integration strategy as needed.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare data privacy regulations throughout the integration lifecycle.
Required Technical Skills
- Expertise in JavaScript programming (v1 and v2 filters) within the Rhapsody environment.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and XML for data management and transformation.
- Deep knowledge of HL7 standards (v2.x, FHIR) and CDA document types.
- Familiarity with healthcare vocabularies including LOINC, SNOMED, and RxNorm.
- Experience with Health Information Exchange (HIE) technology and IHE profiles.
- Hands-on experience with transport security protocols like TLS and mutual certificate authorization.
- Proficiency in developing database connections for MSSQL or Oracle databases.
- Experience implementing solutions based on specific Implementation Guides (IGs).
- Knowledge of TCP, HTTP, LLP, and OAUTH connections as per industry standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in software solution architecture, specifically within the healthcare sector.
- Proven track record working with State-level healthcare clients and understanding public health data requirements.
- Rhapsody Certification is highly preferred and will be considered a significant advantage.
- Strong communication skills to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $175,000 – $225,000 per year (Estimated)
