Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Appian Developer to join our technical team for a critical 6-month engagement. This position is specifically looking for local candidates in Jersey City, NJ, Dallas, TX, or Tampa, FL, as the role requires an onsite presence. As a Senior Developer, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and deploying sophisticated business process management (BPM) solutions that drive operational excellence for our clients. You will leverage your deep expertise in the Appian platform to transform complex business requirements into scalable, high-performance applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of Appian BPM applications, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and business objectives.
- Utilize Appian Designer features to build intuitive and responsive user interfaces, including Tempo, Mobility Features, Pages, and Reports.
- Develop and maintain robust Case Management Services to streamline and automate complex business workflows.
- Configure and manage Appian components such as Smart Services, Web APIs, and Expression Rules to enhance application functionality.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts and stakeholders, to define and refine technical requirements.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and Bitbucket to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
- Participate in all phases of the Agile software development lifecycle, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Perform comprehensive impact analysis on existing systems and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
- Ensure the quality and integrity of the codebase through rigorous testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices.
- Document technical designs, system configurations, and deployment procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintenance.
Technical Requirements
- 8-10 years of professional experience in software development, with a minimum of 5 years focused on the Appian BPM platform.
- In-depth knowledge of Appian architecture, including engines, data stores, and integration capabilities.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing complex business processes and data models within Appian.
- Proficiency in Java, SQL, and web services (REST/SOAP) to support Appian integrations.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, specifically Scrum, and experience using Jira for project management.
- Hands-on experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Appian Certified Lead Developer or Senior Developer certification is highly desirable.
- Experience working in the financial services, healthcare, or technology sectors.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Work Environment and Project Scope
This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance. Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
