Role Overview: Pega Senior Business Analyst
Adventa Tech Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pega Senior Business Analyst to join a critical multi-year initiative for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP). This role is pivotal in the maintenance, upgrade, and migration of the New Jersey Environmental Management System (NJEMS) and its associated integrated systems. The successful candidate will serve as the functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide direct support to the Project Manager, ensuring the seamless transition of NJEMS to a next-generation Pega platform while maintaining the integrity of existing production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate and lead weekly status meetings with NJDEP stakeholders to ensure project alignment and transparency.
- Provide comprehensive functional support throughout the Requirements Definition process, translating complex business needs into technical specifications.
- Author Detailed Design documentation that serves as the blueprint for development and testing phases.
- Act as the primary functional SME during the Development and Testing cycles, providing guidance to technical teams.
- Support large-scale system integration, platform upgrades, and cloud migration initiatives.
- Serve as a strategic liaison between technical development teams and business stakeholders to resolve functional discrepancies.
- Conduct Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions to capture intricate business logic and workflow requirements.
- Manage project backlogs and task tracking using Atlassian JIRA.
- Ensure all functional aspects of the maintenance and support agreement are met with high quality and precision.
Technical Environment and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will operate within a sophisticated technical ecosystem including Pega 8.6, Sybase PowerBuilder 12.5, Java, JavaScript, and Oracle 12c. Candidates must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental projects within the public sector (Federal, State, or Local). Mandatory certifications include Certified Business Architect (Pega 7 or newer) and Certified Product Owner (SCRUM Agile). Proficiency with Sybase Power Designer, Tableau, and Business Objects Reporting is highly desirable. This position requires a deep understanding of PL/SQL, stored procedures, and triggers within an Oracle environment.
Professional Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience conducting JAD sessions.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Atlassian JIRA.
- Proven track record in public sector environmental management systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to document complex business processes.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder management.
- Ability to work onsite in New Jersey as required by the project schedule.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
