Role Overview

Avance Services is looking for a talented Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our dynamic technical team. This is a remote position, however, candidates must be local to California to meet specific client requirements. The ideal candidate will have 4 to 6 years of experience in managing high-availability systems and a strong background in Identity and Access Management (IAM), cloud infrastructure, and automation. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our digital platforms across Azure and GCP environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) solutions using Okta.
  • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, including Entra ID, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and ARM templates.
  • Utilize Azure Monitor and Azure Policy to ensure system health, compliance, and performance standards are met.
  • Oversee Google Cloud Platform (GCP) operations using GAM, Cloud Operations Suite, and Deployment Manager.
  • Implement and enforce Zero Trust security principles across all infrastructure layers.
  • Configure and manage authentication protocols including OAuth, SAML, OIDC, and MFA/FIDO.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and infrastructure deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and lead incident response efforts to minimize downtime and improve system resilience.
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve the observability and reliability of microservices.

Technical Requirements

  • 4-6 years of professional experience in a Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps role.
  • Strong proficiency with Okta for IAM/IGA, including experience with MFA and FIDO standards.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services: Entra ID, AKS, and ARM templates.
  • Experience managing GCP environments using Cloud Operations Suite and Deployment Manager.
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols and security standards (OAuth, SAML, OIDC).
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Azure Monitor or GCP Cloud Operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.
  • Experience with Kubernetes orchestration and containerization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team environment.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices.

Candidate must be local to California (CA); Remote work mode; Focus on Okta IAM and Azure/GCP cloud stacks.


Compensation & Location

Salary: $155,000 – $210,000 per year (Estimated)

Location: Remote, CA
