Position Summary
The Division of Integrated District Supports is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to lead the development of a data platform that showcases school system data in a clear and usable way. This role focuses on turning raw data into actionable insights and recommendations that help schools identify areas for growth and set meaningful goals. You will be responsible for creating a bridge between technical data structures and practical educational outcomes, ensuring that data-driven decisions are at the heart of the school system’s progress.
Core Responsibilities and Data Strategy
- Data Storytelling and Insights: You will analyze school system data and transform findings into clear recommendations. Your goal is to help schools identify priorities and improve student outcomes through evidence-based goal setting.
- Low-Code Platform Development: Using tools like the Microsoft Power Platform and Qualtrics, you will build and maintain platforms that display data and collect inputs regarding school system progress and impact.
- Dashboard and Tool Creation: You will design dashboards that allow school systems to see their data in a centralized location. This includes building automated systems like forms and surveys that organize data so non-technical staff can quickly understand results.
- Statutory Analysis: You will analyze data across multiple federal and state plans to identify overlaps and redundancies. Your insights will be used to propose ways to unify plan requirements and eliminate duplication of effort.
- Performance Tracking: You will build scoring tools and trackers, such as Excel scorecards, to help review applications, measure progress, and monitor results over time.
Technical Requirements and Skills
- Experience: Candidates must have at least 8 years of experience in data analytics and data storytelling, along with 8 years of experience in low-code development.
- Technical Proficiency: A minimum of 5 years of proficiency with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and 3 years of experience with Power BI for data visualization is required.
- Preferred Tools: Experience with Qualtrics and Smartsheet is highly preferred, as is a background working with state agencies or the education sector.
- Communication: The ability to translate complex data into simple, actionable narratives for diverse stakeholders is a critical component of this role.
Impact and Innovation
This role is ideal for a data professional who is passionate about the education sector. You will not only be managing data but also architecting the systems that will define how educational success is measured and achieved. By streamlining data collection and eliminating redundancies in statutory reporting, you will allow educators to focus more on student success and less on administrative overhead. This position requires a candidate who is local to Texas to ensure alignment with state-specific educational standards and reporting requirements.
