Position Summary
Prophecy Technologies is looking for a skilled PHP and WordPress Developer for a critical 6-month contract engagement in Hamilton Township, NJ. This role is designed for a developer who excels in creating custom, high-performance WordPress themes and plugins for enterprise-level business websites. You will be responsible for the full development lifecycle, from initial requirement analysis to production support and performance optimization. This position requires a local presence for face-to-face collaboration and interviews.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and develop custom WordPress themes tailored to specific business and brand requirements.
- Implement new UI/UX features and enhancements to improve user engagement and site performance.
- Perform end-to-end theme customization and plugin development to meet unique functional needs.
- Optimize website security, scalability, and speed to ensure a seamless user experience.
- Provide ongoing production support, including content updates and security patching.
- Develop core functionalities for enterprise platforms such as Connectivity Hub.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions that align with organizational goals.
- Refactor and optimize existing codebases to improve reliability and maintainability.
- Ensure seamless integration with third-party systems and cloud services (Azure/AWS).
- Identify and resolve functional bugs and performance bottlenecks in existing themes and plugins.
Technical Stack & Requirements
- 6-8 years of professional experience in PHP and WordPress development.
- Expertise in MySQL database management and optimization.
- Strong experience with cloud environments including Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Proficiency in local development environments such as XAMPP.
- Advanced skills in frontend technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Proven track record of developing enterprise-grade WordPress platforms.
- Experience with performance troubleshooting and security hardening.
Interview & Location Requirements
- Candidates must be local to the New Jersey area.
- A mandatory face-to-face interview is required for this position.
- The role is onsite in Hamilton Township, NJ.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $115,000 – $125,000 per year
