Role Overview

The Data Integration Engineer is a critical technical role focused on the design, development, and maintenance of complex data pipelines and integration solutions. This position requires a deep understanding of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and the ability to work within a hybrid environment in San Diego (Mira Mesa). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the seamless flow of data across various systems, supporting business intelligence and analytical needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop software at all layers by programming, designing, and testing code to meet specific business requirements.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of functional requirements for new software requests and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Work closely with Business Systems Analysts to clarify software requirements and ensure the final product meets user needs.
  • Practice high-quality software engineering techniques and standards to reduce coding errors and ensure the robustness and efficiency of work products.
  • Partner with software teams in the development of software engineering processes and identify/resolve technical or product problems.
  • Participate in software project meetings and provide regular status reports to stakeholders.
  • Maintain existing applications by enhancing software and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Collaborate with team members and partners to ensure the successful completion of assigned software development tasks.
  • Automate unit test cases for developed software to facilitate future enhancements and maintain code quality.

Technical Requirements

  • 8-10+ years of experience with the Informatica Platform, including Informatica PowerCenter, Data Transformation, and Informatica B2B Data Exchange.
  • Strong proficiency in Informatica design concepts and hands-on knowledge of Mapplets, Mappings, Workflows, and Applications.
  • Expertise in creating Mappings and workflows and implementing advanced ETL concepts.
  • Experience as a PowerCenter Developer with Data Transformation Studio and Developer Studio.
  • Strong ETL and data modeling experience, particularly in high-volume environments.
  • Experience in the development of database processes using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, specifically with Oracle 19c.
  • Knowledge of Postgres and the Ora2pg tool is considered a significant plus.
  • Sound Unix scripting skills and familiarity with DevOps concepts and tools.
  • Excellent knowledge of debugging, tuning, and optimizing the performance of database queries.
  • Thorough knowledge of software methodologies, distributed networking, databases, communications, and multiprocessing applications.
  • Strong proficiency in database interfacing and relational database management systems (RDBMS).

Additional Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to solve complex data-related problems. This role requires a local presence in San Diego, with a commitment to being on-site at the Mira Mesa location twice a week. Candidates must be prepared for a final round interview conducted on-site. Compensation & Location

Salary: $145,000 – $190,000 per year (Estimated)
