Role Overview
The AWS Senior Cloud Infrastructure Architect is a critical leadership role within our technology organization, tasked with the design, implementation, and strategic evolution of our cloud-based ecosystems. As organizations increasingly move toward complex, multi-service architectures, the need for a seasoned professional who can bridge the gap between high-level business requirements and low-level technical execution has never been greater. This position requires a deep-seated expertise in the AWS Well-Architected Framework, ensuring that every solution we deploy is optimized for operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, and cost optimization. You will be expected to lead the architectural direction for a wide range of applications, from legacy migrations to cutting-edge cloud-native deployments.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Architect and implement highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable infrastructure on AWS using Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) principles with Terraform or OpenTofu.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technology roadmaps that align infrastructure capabilities with long-term business goals and emerging industry trends.
- Lead the design of both stateful and stateless application architectures, ensuring data integrity and system resilience across distributed environments.
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to integrate robust security controls, identity management, and data protection measures into the core infrastructure.
- Drive the adoption of modern CI/CD practices using tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions to automate the entire software delivery lifecycle.
- Perform rigorous capacity planning and performance monitoring to ensure that infrastructure resources are utilized efficiently and can scale to meet demand.
- Mentor and guide engineering teams on cloud best practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
Technical Ecosystem and Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in software engineering or systems architecture, with at least 5 years focused specifically on AWS infrastructure.
- Expert-level proficiency in Terraform or OpenTofu for managing complex infrastructure deployments.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, including VPC design, Route 53, Direct Connect, and Transit Gateway.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
- Familiarity with serverless computing (AWS Lambda) and event-driven architectures.
- Knowledge of modern monitoring and observability tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Mandatory Certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or Associate.
- Nice-to-have skills include experience with Pulumi, AI/ML infrastructure, and full-stack development using React and NodeJS.
Operational Excellence and Future Roadmap
In addition to technical design, you will be responsible for the operational health of our cloud environments. This includes establishing robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans, optimizing cloud spend through reserved instances and savings plans, and ensuring that all systems meet stringent uptime requirements. As we look toward the future, you will play a key role in exploring how artificial intelligence and machine learning can be integrated into our infrastructure management processes, enabling self-healing systems and automated scaling. Your ability to assess the feasibility and complexity of new solutions will be vital in maintaining our competitive edge in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $160,000 – $220,000 per year
