Role Overview
The AI Project Manager for Digital Workplace Enablement is a critical role within the AI Strategy & Governance department. This position is responsible for driving the execution of the AI Digital Workplace Task Force, a high-priority initiative aimed at integrating advanced AI tools and digital workplace solutions into the core business processes of the organization. Working in close collaboration with business unit leadership, the Project Manager ensures that AI initiatives are delivered efficiently, providing measurable business value while adhering to strict governance and risk standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of AI Digital Workplace Task Force initiatives, overseeing the lifecycle from initial intake through to project closeout.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, detailed timelines, and critical delivery milestones across multiple complex workstreams.
- Facilitate essential agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to maintain project momentum.
- Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to manage and prioritize backlogs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Coordinate cross-functional dependencies across various departments, including Technology, Information Security, Infrastructure, HR, and specific business units.
- Identify potential delivery risks and issues early; develop and drive effective mitigation and resolution strategies.
- Oversee work performed by external vendors and consulting partners, tracking their deliverables and ensuring adherence to agreed timelines.
- Provide clear, concise status reporting and executive-ready updates to senior leadership.
- Maintain all project artifacts and delivery documentation using standard tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Proactively surface trade-offs and decision points across initiatives, clearly articulating the implications for delivery capacity and business outcomes.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- 3-5 years of proven experience in project or delivery management, specifically within technology or digital environments.
- Strong proficiency in Agile or hybrid delivery models and experience with Jira for backlog and sprint management.
- Exceptional organizational, facilitation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
- Experience navigating large corporate environments and operating within governance, risk, and compliance frameworks.
- Prior experience supporting technology, digital workplace, or AI-specific initiatives is highly preferred.
- Experience in the insurance industry is a significant advantage.
Special Requirements
Onsite Chicago based hybrid with 2-3 days per week in the office; Insurance experience preferred; Potential extension based on performance.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $155,000 – $195,000 per year (Estimated)
