We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Front End Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team for a critical 6-month project. This role is pivotal in shaping the user experience for our next-generation web applications. As a Front End Engineer, you will be responsible for translating complex design wireframes into high-quality, interactive code. You will work closely with our UI/UX designers and back-end developers to bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works. This position requires a hybrid presence, with three days per week onsite at our offices in either Elk Grove or Sunnyvale, California.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new user-facing features using React.js and TypeScript to ensure a robust and scalable front-end architecture.
  • Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use across multiple projects, maintaining a consistent design language.
  • Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code, ensuring technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability, conducting performance audits and implementing best practices for web performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and back-end engineers, to deliver seamless user experiences.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and provide feedback to designers on potential implementation challenges.
  • Implement rigorous security best practices, including Content Security Policy (CSP), XSS prevention, and CSRF handling to protect user data.
  • Utilize modern build tools and version control systems to maintain a clean and efficient development workflow.
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain high code quality and share knowledge within the engineering team.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in front-end development, advocating for the adoption of new tools where appropriate.

Technical Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in front-end development with a strong portfolio of work.
  • Expert-level proficiency in React and its core principles, including hooks and state management.
  • Strong command of HTML5, CSS3, ES6+, and TypeScript.
  • Experience with state management libraries such as Redux, Zustand, or the Context API.
  • Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools like Webpack, Babel, and Parcel.
  • Experience with RESTful and GraphQL APIs, understanding how to efficiently fetch and manage data.
  • Proficiency in testing tools such as Jest, Cypress, and React Testing Library to ensure application stability.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS or GCP and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Solid understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong presence in the developer community.
  • Familiarity with web accessibility best practices (WCAG) to ensure inclusive user experiences.
  • Experience with advanced CSS techniques and preprocessors like SASS or LESS.

Special Requirements

Visa: H1B candidates only. Screening: Must share passport number. Mode: 3x/week onsite (Hybrid). Duration: 6 months.
