Position Summary
We are looking for a seasoned Kubernetes Engineer to join our infrastructure team in Plano, Texas. This is a 100% on-site position that requires a deep understanding of container orchestration, cloud infrastructure, and hybrid environment management. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in engineering and developing our Kubernetes platform, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security for our mission-critical applications. You will work with a variety of technologies, including AWS, Nutanix, and Terraform, to build and maintain a robust infrastructure that supports our growing business needs. This role demands a proactive individual who can take ownership of the infrastructure lifecycle, from planning and building to deployment and operations. You will collaborate with architecture and delivery teams to ensure that our solutions are consistent, integrated, and meet the highest standards of excellence. The environment is fast-paced and requires a candidate who can adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining a focus on long-term stability and performance.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering and development of Kubernetes platforms across hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Onboard applications to the Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) and provide ongoing support and optimization.
- Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible to automate provisioning and configuration.
- Manage and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Artifactory to streamline the software delivery process.
- Perform infrastructure capacity planning, monitoring, and upgrades to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and integrate infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements.
- Write and maintain Python scripts to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and provide timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in Kubernetes and cloud engineering.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Kubernetes engineering and development.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with hybrid infrastructure architectures.
- Proven expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure and services (EKS, EC2, S3, IAM, etc.).
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, specifically Terraform and Ansible.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Artifactory/JFrog.
- Valid Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification is required.
- AWS Certified Solution Architect certification is mandatory for this role.
- Experience with Nutanix environments and Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Python scripting for automation and tool development.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
