Position Summary
Software People Inc. is looking for a Lead Business Analyst with extensive experience in legacy system modernization to support a direct client requirement in Dimondale, MI. This role requires a strategic thinker who can bridge the gap between complex legacy architectures and modern technical solutions. The candidate must be available for an in-person interview and willing to work onsite from day one.
Core Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and high-level stakeholders to align business goals with technical execution.
- Translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language for diverse audiences.
- Lead discussions with architects and developers to navigate technical limitations and ensure the implementation of robust solutions.
- Analyze raw project data to extract meaningful insights that drive critical decision-making processes.
- Conduct ‘build vs. buy’ assessments for software solutions based on technical feasibility and business needs.
- Strategize the modernization of legacy systems, determining when to integrate, enhance, or replace existing applications.
- Manage cross-functional initiatives, ensuring project delivery is on time, within scope, and meets quality standards.
- Mentor junior Business Analysts by sharing best practices and providing professional guidance.
- Review technical designs and specifications for accuracy and conformance to human-centric design principles.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of 12+ years of experience as a Business Analyst with a track record of successful large-scale projects.
- 8+ years of experience eliciting requirements and creating detailed technical design documents in partnership with architects.
- Deep knowledge of software development best practices, including Agile, DevOps, and modern programming frameworks.
- Proficiency in process modeling tools for creating flowcharts, data models, and business process diagrams.
- Familiarity with industry standards across legacy, core, and emerging technologies.
- Strong experience in Agile or Hybrid environments (Scrum, Kanban), translating needs into actionable user stories.
- Solid understanding of enterprise system integration, APIs, middleware, and cloud computing.
- Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions under pressure.
Special Requirements
Interview mode: In-person interview required. Onsite from day 1. Domain restriction: Must have significant experience with legacy system modernization.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $140,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
