Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Developer with a specialized background in the Telecom domain to join our engineering team in Basking Ridge, NJ. This is a long-term contract position requiring an onsite presence. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable applications using modern Java frameworks and cloud-native technologies. You will be part of a dynamic team focused on delivering mission-critical software solutions that power global communication networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop robust backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and WebFlux to support high-concurrency telecom operations.
- Architect and implement microservices that are resilient, scalable, and easily maintainable within a distributed system.
- Design and optimize RESTful APIs for seamless integration with internal and external systems, ensuring low latency and high throughput.
- Manage and interact with Oracle Databases, ensuring data integrity, complex query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Utilize DevOps tools including GitLab, Jenkins, Maven, and JFrog Artifactory for continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
- Orchestrate containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes to ensure consistent environments across development and production.
- Perform complex data transformations using XML and XSL to handle legacy system integrations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and network engineers, to define, design, and ship new features within the telecom ecosystem.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers to maintain high standards of code quality and architectural integrity.
Technical Requirements
- Extensive experience in Java development, specifically with Spring Boot and reactive programming models like WebFlux.
- Proven track record in microservices architecture and the development of secure, scalable REST APIs.
- Mandatory hands-on experience with Oracle Database management and SQL optimization.
- Proficiency with modern DevOps toolchains: GitLab, Jenkins, Maven, JFrog, SonarQube, Jira, and Confluence.
- Strong knowledge of container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes and Docker.
- Expertise in XML/XSL transformations and data mapping.
- Deep understanding of the Telecom domain, including protocols and industry-specific workflows, is a non-negotiable requirement.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP for deploying enterprise applications.
- Exposure to Python for scripting and frontend technologies like React.js or AngularJS is highly desirable for full-stack visibility.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
