Position Summary
Tek Inspirations is actively hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to join a high-end engineering environment in Binghamton, NY. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between design and production, ensuring that complex electronic and electro-mechanical products are manufactured efficiently, reliably, and to the highest quality standards. You will be the technical lead on the production floor, driving process improvements and resolving technical bottlenecks.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, and tooling.
- Design and implement tooling and fixtures to enhance assembly precision and reduce cycle times.
- Analyze and plan workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout for maximum efficiency.
- Provide technical support for New Product Introduction (NPI) by conducting Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews.
- Create and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow charts, and PFMEAs.
- Lead root cause analysis investigations for manufacturing defects and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Collaborate with PCB designers and suppliers to optimize board assembly and soldering processes.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to eliminate waste and improve process capability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically with electronics or precision electro-mechanical assembly.
- Strong understanding of DFM, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or AutoCAD) for fixture design.
- Excellent analytical skills and a hands-on approach to technical problem-solving.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both design engineers and production technicians.
Working Environment
This role requires a consistent presence on the production floor to monitor processes and provide real-time support. You will work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where innovation and precision are paramount. The Binghamton facility is a center of excellence for high-end engineering, offering opportunities to work on cutting-edge technology. Candidates must be local to the Binghamton area or willing to commute within a 30-45 minute radius to ensure rapid response to production needs.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $98,000 – $138,000 per year (Estimated)
