Role Overview: Test Lead – Playwright
Scalable Systems is seeking a highly experienced Test Lead with a specialized focus on Playwright automation and the Utilities sector. This role is critical for a major CIS (Customer Information System) migration project in Minneapolis, MN. As a lead, you will be responsible for driving the testing strategy, managing a team of testers, and ensuring the quality of complex integrations involving real-time and file-based data flows.
Key Responsibilities and Strategic Impact
- Lead a dedicated team of QA professionals through a high-stakes CIS system migration, focusing on data integrity and edge integrations.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive test strategy that encompasses both manual and automated testing methodologies.
- Utilize Playwright to build robust, scalable automation frameworks for web-based applications and internal utility tools.
- Collaborate deeply with Product Owners, Enterprise Architects, and System Analysts to translate complex user stories into actionable test cases.
- Manage the end-to-end testing lifecycle within JIRA, ensuring all stories meet rigorous acceptance criteria before release.
- Oversee integration testing for platforms including SAP, Salesforce, IBM ACE, SEEBURGER, and Utility IQ.
- Mitigate risks and resolve technical blockers in a fast-paced, collaborative Agile environment.
- Ensure smooth, conflict-free releases by maintaining high test coverage and performing thorough regression testing.
Technical and Professional Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related business field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Utilities industry with a strong technical and functional background.
- Proven expertise in Playwright for automation; experience with legacy tools is a plus but Playwright is the primary focus.
- Hands-on experience with CIS migration projects and complex integration testing (Real-time/File-based).
- Proficiency in navigating and managing workflows within JIRA.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior testers and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Strong communication skills to bridge the gap between technical teams and business leadership.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $145,000 – $185,000 per year (Estimated)
