Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on IaC Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Milpitas, California. This onsite role is critical for building, operating, and scaling our next-generation Kubernetes clusters deployed on physical bare-metal servers. In the 2026 technology landscape, the ability to manage hybrid and on-premises infrastructure with the same agility as cloud environments is paramount. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of our infrastructure, from initial hardware provisioning to high-level orchestration and reliability engineering. This position requires a deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and the practical application of automation tools to ensure a resilient and scalable production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated provisioning workflows for physical servers using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Deploy, manage, and optimize large-scale Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability and performance for containerized applications.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) repositories to manage networking, storage, and compute resources.
- Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure proactive identification of system issues.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines and improve the developer experience.
- Perform capacity planning and hardware lifecycle management to support the growth of our data center operations.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across the stack, including networking, OS-level performance, and container orchestration.
- Ensure infrastructure security by implementing best practices for access control, encryption, and vulnerability management.
Technical Requirements
The ideal candidate will have 6-8 years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering or DevOps. Mastery of Kubernetes is essential, specifically in the context of bare-metal or physical server environments. You must demonstrate expert-level proficiency with Terraform and Ansible for automating complex infrastructure tasks. Experience with Linux systems administration, shell scripting, and networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, VLANs) is required. Familiarity with storage technologies (SAN/NAS, NVMe-over-Fabrics) and monitoring stacks (Prometheus, Grafana) is highly desirable. A strong commitment to documentation and a collaborative mindset are necessary for success in our onsite Milpitas team environment. Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $165,000 – $215,000 per year (Estimated)
