This position is designed for a high-level expert specializing in Network Access Control (NAC) and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE). As enterprise networks evolve toward zero-trust models in 2026, your role will be to ensure that every device and user connecting to the network is verified, authorized, and compliant with corporate security policies. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of secure network access, from initial architectural design to complex troubleshooting and optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support enterprise-wide Cisco ISE and NAC solutions across multi-site environments.
  • Lead the deployment of secure wired and wireless access controls using 802.1X protocols such as EAP-TLS and PEAP.
  • Integrate Cisco ISE with critical infrastructure components including Active Directory, LDAP, PKI certificate services, and MDM platforms.
  • Develop and manage Cisco TrustSec and software-defined segmentation policies to limit lateral movement within the network.
  • Provide advanced Tier 3 troubleshooting for complex authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) issues.
  • Perform regular infrastructure maintenance, including software upgrades, security patching, and hardware lifecycle management for Cisco Catalyst switches and Wireless LAN Controllers.
  • Collaborate closely with the Cybersecurity team to align network access policies with the broader zero-trust strategy.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, network diagrams, and operational runbooks.
  • Mentor junior network engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices for network security and performance.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide escalation support for critical network incidents.

Technical Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in enterprise-level network engineering.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience specifically with Cisco ISE and NAC implementations.
  • Deep expertise in Cisco Catalyst switching, Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers, and RADIUS/TACACS+ protocols.
  • Proficiency in VLAN segmentation and policy-based access control.
  • Experience with Cisco DNA Center and Cisco TrustSec architectures.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP routing protocols.
  • Advanced packet analysis skills using tools like Wireshark to diagnose connectivity and performance issues.
  • CCNP Enterprise certification is required; CCIE (Enterprise or Security) is highly preferred.

Professional Environment

Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, this role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge Cisco technologies in a fast-paced, high-scale environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proactive problem-solving mindset and the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously. Excellent communication skills are essential for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting technical solutions to stakeholders.
