Role Overview

The IAM Ping Engineer / OKTA Engineer is a critical technical role responsible for the analysis, enhancement, and ongoing support of a highly complex, enterprise-level Okta Single Sign-On (SSO) platform. This position is designed to support a vast array of SaaS applications and a robust GCP cloud-hosted environment. The successful candidate will be a key member of the enterprise identity team, collaborating across departments to manage and optimize platforms including PingFederate, PingID, AWS Identity Center, and Okta. This is a hybrid role requiring three days of onsite presence per week in either Richmond or McLean, Virginia, offering a perfect blend of collaborative in-person interaction and focused remote work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, enhance, and support enterprise-level Okta SSO platforms supporting SaaS and GCP environments.
  • Collaborate with enterprise identity teams to manage PingFederate, PingID, and AWS Identity Center.
  • Manage and secure enterprise cloud infrastructures within AWS and GCP.
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable technology solutions for internal stakeholders.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and incident resolution for high-severity identity and access issues.
  • Develop automated solutions using advanced scripting, CI/CD pipelines, and serverless computing.
  • Create and maintain detailed architecture, standards, design, and implementation documentation.
  • Identify technical and operational opportunities for continuous improvement within Authentication Services.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning, capacity management, and performance monitoring to ensure high availability.

Technical Requirements and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in cybersecurity or information technology.
  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience with enterprise IdPs, specifically Okta or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • At least 1 year of experience in Cloud Infrastructure management.
  • 5+ years of experience with Okta in enterprise environments, including Policy Management and SAML/OIDC.
  • 5+ years of experience developing complex scripts in Bash, NodeJS, or Python for automation.
  • 5+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $155,000 – $210,000 per year (Estimated)
