Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Front-End Engineer with a deep specialization in Angular to join a large-scale enterprise digital transformation initiative. This role is pivotal for a major organization undergoing a comprehensive modernization of its digital ecosystem. As a Front-End Engineer, you will be at the forefront of building sophisticated, high-performance web applications that serve millions of users. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity designed for a professional who thrives in a hybrid work environment, alternating between remote work and onsite collaboration in either Reading, PA or Tampa, FL.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop responsive, modular web applications using Angular 14+ and TypeScript, ensuring high performance across various platforms and devices.
  • Implement and maintain micro-frontend architectures, utilizing Module Federation and Webpack to create a seamless, scalable shell application environment.
  • Design and build reusable UI component libraries that adhere to strict design systems and accessibility standards (WCAG).
  • Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, product owners, and backend engineers to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and interactive user experiences.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers, conducting thorough code reviews and promoting best practices in front-end development.
  • Drive the adoption of Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices, writing comprehensive unit tests using frameworks like Jasmine and Karma.
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, contributing to continuous process improvement.
  • Monitor application performance in production environments using tools like Dynatrace or Splunk, identifying and resolving bottlenecks or bugs promptly.

Technical Requirements

  • 5-7 years of professional experience in front-end development with a strong focus on enterprise-level applications.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Angular (version 14 or higher), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3 (SASS/LESS), and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Proven experience with state management libraries (e.g., NgRx, Akita) and reactive programming with RxJS.
  • Hands-on experience with micro-frontend architecture and shared library design.
  • Familiarity with backend integration using Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with modern build tools and CI/CD pipelines (Maven, Git, Jenkins, Bamboo).
  • Strong understanding of relational databases such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, or DB2.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead small development teams or offshore resources.

Work Environment and Benefits

This position offers a hybrid schedule, requiring local candidates to be available for partial onsite work. The project duration is initially 6 months with a strong intent for conversion to a permanent role based on performance. You will be working with a stable, forward-thinking team that values innovation, mentorship, and professional growth. This is an excellent opportunity to influence the technical direction of a major enterprise application and work with cutting-edge technologies in a collaborative setting.
